He's just a brilliant character, and I was really annoyed when they attempted to make Sheppard and Mitchell the new Jack O'Neills.

Completely agree! I think the writers realised that the best character they could come up with had left, so they tried to compensate for that by making Sheppard and Mitchell like Jack...

Gotta be the same. Whilst I love the other members of SG-1 and Sheppard, ole Jack out-runs them all.

I agree. Has to be Jack! He's a great character, and RDA plays him so well. It's a shame that he's not in the new series as much as before. It's not proper Stargate without Jack!
