What do you think of the news that Stargate SG-1 has been cancelled?

TBH I think SG-1 was just getting a bit boring, it is just a shame that it was cancelled instead of them saying it was ending and doing it on their own terms. It really went down hill when RDA left. He was the life and soul of the series. Now they are just trying to get as many Jack O'Neill substitutes into both SG-1 and SG-A to fill the void and it isnt working.

I agree. They're now the longest running sci-fi show, and they should leave it now. None of them can go on forever, and I think RDA realised that it was time for him to leave - unfortunately!
And I think the idea of having ships just totally spoilt the whole idea. It's called Stargate for a reason! Since they got the ships, they haven't needed the Stargate as much and it's just been forgotten. I mean, come on, you've got this fab ring thing that can take you to any planet in the galaxy (or others, if you have the energy!) within just a few seconds - why on earth do you want a slow ship?!
Oh well, we've still got Atlantis! (Well, not if the Wraith have anything to do with it, but still...)

No way!!!
It's all because Jack left, as well. They should have tried to end it then so that they could have a super ending to a super show, but now they've tried to carry it hasn't lived up to everyone's expectations.
But at least there's still room for them to fix up Jack and Sam!!
