Just how good is the new Stargate SG-1? (S9 Spoilers!)

What are your opinions on the new seasons of SG-1?
Do you think that they should have stuck with the classic SG-1: Jack, Sam, Daniel and Teal'c, with Hammond in charge. Or do you think that it's a good idea that they put a new General in charge and brought in Cameron Mitchell?
Do you think it's good that they brought back Daniel, or do you think that they should have kept Jonas Quinn?
May contain spoilers for those of you who haven't seen them yet, and NO season ten spoilers, please.

I think the new seasons of SG-1 are just awful. The only good thing about them is that Daniel is getting annoyed to death by Vala, but even that's gone now!
People want classic SG-1 with Hammond in charge, Janet in the infirmary, and constantly waiting for the writers to push Jack and Sam together. I've got nothing against the new characters/actors, but it's just not Stargate anymore.
My opinion on the Daniel vs Jonas thing is simple... I can't stand Daniel, particularly since he came back. They should have kept Jonas, because when Daniel came back it was clear that there was a lot of Mr. Shanks put into the character, which basically made him act like he was God's gift to the planet. Look at any of the TV interviews with Michael Shanks and you'll see it...

They are more than a bit dull... but unfortunately they couldnt do a lot about RDA and Don S Davis retiring... but i think the writers are running out of team ideas, far too much of S8 revoloved around a single character and there was hardly any team based eppisodes...

Season 9 of SG-1 isn't the best. However there are a couple of decent episodes. I liked the team interactions in 'Beachead' because we had the old team back from Season 8, plus Vala and Mitchell.
It isnt SG-1 at its best, but it is SG-1 and I will still watch it. I just hope the rest of Season 9 and Season 10 of SG-1 will be better.

I will keep watching as long as it's reasonable. If they end up with flying pigs, then I might draw the line..

As will I... it just seems to me that they are running out of ideas very quickly... They wiped out one race of pretending to be gods aliens, and all of a sudden they have to deal with another one, just a little more powerful... It seems that most Ori eppisodes have involved daniel in an ethical battle with the prior of the week... And now that they have ships that can go anywhere, it kinda defeats the point of the Stargate...
